Annual Jog-a-Thon

Our Apex Fun Run will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 this year, and kick off with a high energy Pep Rally on Monday, November 7, 2022. The fundraising period will be open from November 7, 2022 to November 17, 2022 and will be accompanied by leadership lessons; this year’s theme is X-Factor Leaders.

Students will ask family and friends from near and far to pledge donations for their running efforts. Funds raised will be used to support programs for our students at Kelly: Art, P.E., Steam Lab, Music, Enrichment Specialists, Educational Assemblies, Classroom Supplies, Special Events, and so much more!

Don't forget that you can deduct your Fun Run donation on your taxes. Sponsors can use the Kelly PTA Tax ID # 33-0028210 for tax-deductible donations!

What do you need to do to participate?

First, your student will be sent home with a flyer on November 7, 2022 with instructions to set up the student’s personal fundraising page using an access code assigned to each student. Just follow the instructions to register and get set up.

Second, use links on the fundraising page to share with friends and family through email, social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), or text. This will enable them to pledge donations for each lap, to support your student’s engagement in school fundraising, leadership, and physical activity.

Third, have your student wear their running shoes, apply sunscreen, and bring plenty of water the day of the event. Families are invited and encouraged to come cheer on their runners!

• 9:15-10:00AM: Second and Third Grade

• 10:30-11:15AM: Kindergarten and First Grade

• 11:30AM-12:15PM: Fourth and Fifth Grade

Q: What Does my student need to do to participate in the Fun Run?

A: Log into your student’s fundraising page and share with friends, family, and community members. Be ready to run or walk the day of the event and solicit donations. While it is not a requirement for participation in the Fun Run or leadership activities, we encourage your student to solicit donations for the fundraiser.

Q: Whom should my student ask to be a sponsor?

A: Sponsors can be parents, relatives, neighbors -- anyone who has a connection to your student, would like to support their leadership development, healthy habits of physical activity, and support our school. Sponsors can be from near or far!

Q: How much money should a sponsor donate?

A: That is up to the sponsor to determine an amount per lap. On average, student runners complete 26-36 laps during the run. There is also an option for corporate matching if you work for a company that participates in this. Every dollar helps!

Q: How is the money collected from the sponsors?

A: Donations can be made directly on the Apex fundraising page; these donations will be sent to the Kelly Elementary PTA Square account. If a sponsor chooses to write a check, they can reach out regarding steps.

Q: Are donations tax-deductible?
